Akpabio Told Gov Ododo To Recall Me, Told Yahaya Bello To Kill Me - Natasha Alleges

Senator Natasha Accuses Senate President Akpabio of Recall Conspiracy

Let me set the scene for you. Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan from Kogi Central has dropped some serious allegations that have sent shockwaves across political circles in Nigeria. She claims that none other than Senate President Godswill Akpabio was behind the push to recall her from her senatorial seat. Now, this isn’t just a random accusation—it’s a bold claim that could shake up the political landscape.

According to Naija News, Natasha alleged during a town hall meeting with her constituents that Akpabio had reached out to Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, with the intention of initiating her recall. However, Governor Ododo, after careful consideration, refused to comply with Akpabio’s request. His reasoning? The people of Kogi Central were firmly behind Natasha, making the recall process not only unjust but also practically impossible.

Natasha Speaks Out Against Akpabio’s Alleged Plot

Now, here’s where it gets even more interesting. Natasha made these revelations during an address to her constituents at her home in Kogi State on a Tuesday. She didn’t hold back as she detailed the events that led to her current predicament. According to her account, after Governor Ododo turned down Akpabio’s request, the Senate President didn’t give up. Instead, he allegedly shifted his focus and reached out to former Governor Yahaya Bello.

  • What Natasha claims happened next is nothing short of alarming. She says that Akpabio summoned Yahaya Bello to a secret meeting, and it wasn’t just about the recall anymore. There was a dual agenda at play. First, they planned to initiate her recall process, and to make sure it happened, Akpabio reportedly provided financial backing. But that wasn’t all. Natasha alleges that Akpabio also instructed Yahaya Bello to attempt an assassination, ensuring that her death appeared to be the work of local forces in Kogi State rather than a politically motivated hit in Abuja.

    The Details of Natasha’s Allegations

Let me break it down for you. Natasha recounted the specifics of this alleged plot during her speech. On March 14th at 10:30 PM, just two days after Akpabio had first approached Governor Ododo on March 12th, the wheels of this conspiracy were already in motion. Governor Ododo, recognizing the will of the people, stood firm and rejected the recall proposal. But Akpabio wasn’t satisfied with this outcome. He then turned to former Governor Yahaya Bello, arranging a meeting facilitated by Senator Asuquo from Cross River.

Natasha emphasized the chilling details of their meeting: “Let me say this now, on the 14th of March, at 10:30 pm, mind you two days before that, that was on the 12th, Akpabio spoke to Governor Ododo to recall me. But he told him it would be impossible because the masses are with her, the people are with her.” She went on to explain that when Akpabio realized Ododo wouldn’t budge, he sought Yahaya Bello’s help. “When Akpabio was not satisfied, he then sent for Yahaya Bello. It was actually Senator Asuquo from Cross River that drove Yahaya Bello from Hilton Hotel, I was informed of everything. When I got to know, the meeting, it was in two folds. They told him to commence my recall and that he was going to fund it. Of course, money exchanged hands that night.”

And here’s where it gets even darker. Natasha revealed that Akpabio didn’t stop at just planning the recall. He also allegedly instructed Yahaya Bello to carry out her assassination. She explained, “The second thing he told him was that he should try and kill me. I didn’t make this public, but I wrote to the IG of Police.” She added, “And Akpabio told Yahaya Bello, I am standing by what I said, he told him that he should make sure that killing me did not happen in Abuja. That it should be done here so that it would seem as if it is the people that killed me here. I didn’t make that public, but we did notify the security agencies of that.”

What Natasha has shared isn’t just a political accusation; it’s a story that highlights the dangers and complexities of Nigerian politics. Whether these allegations hold water or not, one thing is clear—this is a situation that deserves serious scrutiny and investigation. As the story unfolds, all eyes will be on the response from those accused and the actions of the relevant authorities to ensure justice and transparency.
