PSC Approves Promotion Of 219 Senior Police Officers

Police Service Commission Endorses Major Ranks Advancement

Hey there, let me fill you in on some exciting news coming straight out of the Police Service Commission (PSC). They've just approved the promotion of 219 senior police officers across the nation, moving them up to their next ranks. This is a big deal, folks, as it shows the government's commitment to recognizing the hard work and dedication of these officers. It’s not just about a title change; it’s about acknowledging the sacrifices and efforts these individuals have made in maintaining law and order.

Among those getting their well-deserved promotions are 26 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP), 23 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP), and a whopping 170 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP). This is a significant boost to the ranks, and it reflects the ongoing commitment to professional growth within the police force.

And that’s not all. Just earlier on Monday, Naija News reported that the Commission had already promoted 66 officers, including 20 Commissioners of Police (CP) to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIG) and 19 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) to substantive CPs. If that sounds like a mouthful, it’s because it is! But trust me, it’s a big deal for these officers and the communities they serve. Additionally, 13 Superintendents of Police (SP) were promoted to CSP, while 14 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) moved up to SP. Talk about climbing the ranks!

    Here’s the Breakdown

PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani confirmed the latest promotions in a detailed statement. He outlined that 26 ACPs were promoted to Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP), 23 CSPs advanced to ACP, and 170 ASPs moved up to DSP. This is a massive recognition of their contributions and dedication to their duties.

Ani went on to name some of the officers who received these promotions. Among the Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP) elevated to the next rank are Tarzan Yusuf Tsav, who served as Area Commander in Irrua, Edo State, and previously in Uromi within the same state. Then there’s Samantha Nansah Barko from the SCID in Bauchi State Command, and Shehu Wase Abdullahi, who was the Area Commander in Kazaure, Jigawa State Command. We also have Ajeigbe Olayinka, who served in Area 'M' Idimu in Lagos, and Abubakar Haruna, who was the Area Commander in Metro, Jos, Plateau State.

And that’s just the beginning! The list continues with Elisha Daniel Bawa, ACP Operations in Kwara State Command, and Ibrahim Abdul Ahmed, Area Commander in Katsina-Ala, Benue State. Plus, Williams Aboi Tawon from the Department of Finance and Administration in Zone 7, Abuja, and Elija Sunny Dangana, who served in the CID in Oyo State, received the same honor. Other officers like Bello Wudil Hamisu, ACP Eastern By-Pass in Kano, and Usanga Ime Bassey, ACP DFA in Cross Rivers State, were also among those promoted. The list is long but every name represents a story of dedication and service.

    Not Forgotten: The ASPs

170 ASPs Make Their Way to DSP

Now, let’s talk about the 170 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP) who have been promoted to Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP). These officers have been working tirelessly in their respective roles, and now they’re stepping into new responsibilities. Some of the promoted ASPs include Gombwer Wokdung, Bulus Danjuma, Mohammed Usman, and Yusuf Ibrahim, all from Katsina State Command. Others like Ahmad Katama from Kano State Command, Danjuma Musa from Kaduna State Command, and Ugwuanyi Obinna Peter, who works in the Anti-Kidnapping Section in Ukpo, Anambra State, were also among those promoted.

And there’s more! Officers such as Abraham Albert from Mopol 50 in Kubwa, Abuja, Abduljalal Bello Muhammad from Police College in Kaduna, Ezeme Lambert Obinna from Anambra State Command, and Usman Musa Said from Kano State Command, among others, are now DSPs. This promotion not only boosts their morale but also signifies the trust placed in them to continue serving their communities effectively. It’s a proud moment for all of them and their families, and it’s a step forward for the entire police force.
