The explosion happened when a petrol tanker caught fire on Karu Bridge, along the Abuja-Nyanya-Keffi road, setting ablaze no fewer than 30 vehicles in its vicinity.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, President Tinubu also directed security and road safety agencies to ramp up their efforts in monitoring traffic conditions and enforcing safety regulations. In a statement released on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, acknowledging the heartbreak caused by such a devastating loss.
